Cannot install program

Hi Folks I am trying to install the AvalonDock component, but it keeps bombing out with 'Error writing to file: AvalonDock.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.'

I've tried downloading 'AvalonDock_DLLs_NET4.zip' but don't have any idea how to get this to work. VisualBasic help seems to suggest that I need to create some kind of web custom control in the toolbox, but I don't seem to have an option for creating a new .xml file to make a .vsi. Elsewhere, I've read that there could be something wrong with my Registry. I think both of these could be red herrings, as there must be a much simpler explanation/cause for this error.

I am currently on VB Express 2008, and about to install VB Express 2010. Can't seem to find Visual Studio in my Start Menu or c:\Progrm files, only VB.

Any ideas? -Thanks
