Is AvalonDock used in production environment ?

Jul 8, 2011 at 8:39 AM

we are looking for a docking library and we tested some commercial products (Telerik, Actipro) as well as AvalonDock. We like AvalonDock because it is open source and if required we will be able to modify some behaviors to fulfill specifications.

But the BIG question is to make sure AvalonDock is usable in a professional environment (ie a team of professional developers working with a project manager, a sponsor and locked specifications) and can be deployed in a production environment (ie after test/validation phases and SLA).

Do you already used AvalonDock in such conditions ? If yes a very short and factual summary of your project (size of the project in man/day, date of delivery, number of users, of releases, % of screens managed by AvalonDock) should be very helpful, for me and all AvalonDock supporters.

Thanks for all answers, thanks too to Adospace.

we are also interested in answers, but it seems "professional developers" are too busy to answer, optimistic explanation ...

We use Avalon to develop a product with locked specifications. We create an interface over Avalon to simplify its usage (the product can be extended by developers).

  • The product is about 1500 man/days in the first version.
  • About 10 others developers use the product to develop new plugins.
  • The first release was in may.
  • The next release is in september.
