Moving DockableContent between DockingManagers

Nov 4, 2011 at 2:46 PM

My application opens up two instances of System.Windows.Window.  So I have
two windows each with it's own DockingManager.  What I would like to do is
drag and drop a DockableContent from one Window/DockingManager to
the other Window/DockingManager.

I am new to AvalonDock and my thought is that I will have to manually
serialize the layout between the two DockingManagers.  That is, as the
pane is floating it can remain associated with the source Window, but when
the mouse is over the second Window, the pane would become associate
with the second DockingManager.

Maybe Avalon supports this already... if so, please point me in the right
direction!  If not, and I need to do this via manual serialization... maybe
someone else has already done the same.

TIA.

Did you ever find a solution to that problem? I'm having pretty much the same "problem".

I abandoned AvalonDock when I found a commercial version that met the requirement.  Which
one escapes me at the moment, but it was one of the common vendors.  It's been over a year!

Good luck.
