Floating DockableContent and DataTemplates

Dec 15, 2009 at 8:29 PM

I have a DataTemplate for Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.WorkItem.  I set the content of a DockableContent to be a WorkItem object and it works great.

But when undock the DockableContent (ie make it floating), it just shows the ToString() represenation of the WorkItem (which happens to be Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.WorkItem).

Anyone know a way to keep using the DataTemplate after it is undocked?  (By the way, when it redocks the template is used again).

is your data-template registered at 'application' level (i.e. from Application.xaml) or is it declared in you main window's resources?

I found if its in the application.xaml (you can use a merged ResourceDictionary) then it works

hope that helps :-)

It is registered at the windows resources level.

This is my first real WPF app and I did not even know you an register it in Application.xaml.

I will look into that.  Thanks!
